As case in point, a recent report by AFP, entitled, “Experts urge U.N. to address mental health,” discusses how a recent article in PLoS Medicine, a reputable medical journal, has called for the United Nations General Assembly to develop a plan to tackle mental, neurological, and substance-abuse disorders (MNS).
The article was authored by Vikram Patel of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and Judith Bass from Johns Hopkins School of Public Health in the United States, among other contributors.as well as from the linked "news article" from the Tico Times.net
A list of key needs to be addressed and steps to take could be enshrined in a “People’s Charter for Mental Health” accounting for input from policymakers, families, researchers and other advocates.
The article said neuropsychiatric disorders would account for the loss of some $16.1 trillion globally over the next two decades, with “dramatic impacts on productivity and quality of life,” particularly as the population ages.
"" The article said neuropsychiatric disorders would account for the loss of some $16.1 trillion "" in profits to the psycho/pharma industry if the UN doesn't act now to insure the revenue stream in to the next millenium.
Additionally, I've YET TO SEE such a "reputable medical journal" as mentioned above WHICH HASN'T BEEN CORRUPTED BY THE PSYCHO/PHARMA PROMOTIONAL FABRICATION MATRIX.
All this "article" really states is that the APA pharma shareholders and thereby its lapdog the WPA are running scared from the US SEC investigations, fines, lawsuits, and DOJ indictments into the WILD WEST of the developing world where they know they can BAMBOOZLE the establishment into believing the BAG OF @!$%# they are handing them is SHIN-O-LA.
The ONLY lack of representation that exists in the so called "Global Mental Health" arena is the individual human spirit.
